Saint-Gobain announces today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Adfil NV, a top international player specialized in fibers for concrete reinforcement.

Operating globally in the construction industry thanks to a commercial presence in over 60 countries, Adfil employs around 70 people, operates two plants in Belgium and generated revenues of close to €40 million in 2022. In addition to Chryso and GCP’s admixtures, Adfil’s performance fibers contribute to the reduction of reinforced-concrete’s CO2 footprint, the improvement of lead times and productivity for construction projects, and an increased lifespan for concrete.

Adfil will be consolidated within the Construction Chemicals segment in High Performance Solutions.

Thanks to this acquisition, Saint-Gobain will be able to offer its clients an enlarged range of solutions including concrete admixtures and fibers accelerating the development of sustainable and high-performance concrete.

Closing of the transaction is subject to antitrust approvals and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions; it is expected by year-end 2023.

The acquisition of Adfil is in line with Saint-Gobain’s “Grow & Impact” strategy aiming to both strengthen the Group’s leadership and accelerate its growth by enriching its range of solutions for light and sustainable construction.
